WHAT A MAIN STREET PROGRAM IS WORTH
$16.1 million invested in our district | 18 new businesses opened | 0 closed | 32 full time jobs created
January to June 2026, as reported to the Mississippi Main Street Association by Brandon Main Street Association.
for the community
Everything we do is for the people who live here. Our events are free or minimal costs, various events are built for all ages, and they happen on the streets your neighbors run their businesses on.
Come to an 042 Night. Walk Wine Down Downtown. Run the Crawfish Crawl. Spend a Saturday on Government Street. Bring the kids, bring the dog.
And if you want to do more than show up, we need volunteers. No experience required, no minimum hours, no long term commitment. Tell us you are interested and we will put you to work.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to create a sense of place, community and pride that reflects our city's values and history, while embracing a prosperous and sustainable future.
Brandon Main Street Association is a volunteer led 501(c)(3) nonprofit made up of Brandon residents and business owners. We are a Designated Mississippi Main Street community, running the Four Point Approach that has rebuilt American downtowns since 1980.
Our district runs along Government Street from Louis Wilson Drive to Crossgates Boulevard, and the work does not stop at that line. A strong downtown is the front door opportunity comes through, and what we build there brings visitors and spending to businesses across all of Brandon.
We work on four things: helping businesses open and grow, protecting the charm and character that make Brandon feel like Brandon, giving people a reason to come downtown and a reason to come back, and building the volunteers and partners who keep all of it running.
Brandon took home two statewide awards at the Mississippi Main Street Annual Awards Luncheon in June 2026: Main Street Hero and Best Adaptive Reuse.
